At auction selling with no reserve - an authentic whimsy egg in Burmese and hand decorated that was produced by Mt. Washington in the late 19th century - 1880 - 1890 era. A peachblow type Burmese was the ultimate items made by Mt. Washington using gold salts and was satinized giving to it's high yellow finish. T simply is nothing else like it then or after as it has a feel like the skin of a baby and is very subtle in colors as the gold heated and cooled, it was prized even it's time. Rather than a pontil at bottom this is hand made in reverse with a tiny blowpipe which leaves the hole in the top and a smooth , round true egg shape. This is around the size of a jumbo egg measuring about 3 1/2 inches tall. Burmese is impossible to photograph as modern digital cameras cannot distinguish the blending of colors and the changes that slightly occur as they are so very slight and confuse a camera's "white balance" so to give the viewers the best perspective I have shot this in different lights and edited them with the egg in front of me to do the best I can yet all pics are inferior to seeing it in person though the hand painted art work seems true to form. These eggs are scarce as you may imagine and this one is in mint perfect condition with no flaws to announce. The paint work is of a very high relief and t is no loss, it is original to the item. Found in a recent estate collection of many fine art items as you may see by - Checking out my other items ! you will not be disappointed with this period Mt. Washington , Burmese egg. This is not the Fenton Burmese by any means but a much earlier hand made original and I gurantee it's pedigree. If not 100% satisfied you may return it less 10% of the winning bid price and I pay the return shipping. I say this to insure advanced collectors that will most likely bid or win this as I have been in the business over 30 years and this is the real deal folks for sure so do bid with confidence and ask any questions you may feel to - glad to answer. No stopping auction or buy it now as I have been directed to sell this by auction so save the email, bid on it and bid early is my advice to all - Museum grade and $49.00 to start bidding Ships most worldwide - double boxed for care - must be insured |
