40 th Anniversary Commemorative Slide Ruler

The most memorable event in space exploration history; the Apollo XI mission. It was the first manned mission to land on the lunar surface. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969.
Now you can own a piece of space history, the Pickett 600 ES slide rule. The same model used on the Apollo XI mission and signed by Buzz Aldrin himself. The slide rule was (and is) a powerful computational tool and would come in very handy in the event of a computer malfunction. 1500 of these slide rulers were found in a warehouse and preserved in mint condition after the Pickett company stopped production in 1975. The Pickett Company, founded in 1943, was proud of the fact that NASA selected this slide rule model of theirs to fly on five of the Apollo missions; they used that fact in their advertising of the period. These slide rules are not replicas. Unlike photos, these slide rules cannot be reproduced, so when they’re gone, they’re gone.
Each rule is signed on the leather case by Buzz Aldrin, numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
