Offered is a Byers Choice British Soldier Caroler, playing a military drum, measuring 13 1/2" tall to the top of his black felt tri-cornered hat. Wearing a bright red jacket with navy trim and "silver" buttons, off white vest and knicker pants, white socks and black gold buckled shoes, this caroler is very enthusiastic. At the bottom of the base is stated "Byers Choice Ltd. created especially for Williamsburg - 2009".In the true spirit of Christmas, founder Bob Byers Sr. established the Byers Foundation in 1982. More than 20% of the company's annual profits are passed through the foundation each year to support local, national and international charities. Beginning in the 1960's Joyce Byers spent the lead-up to every Christmas hand crafting Carolers as decorations and Christmas presents. What started as a few small gifts made out of some claly, paint, scraps of old clothes and her son's hair quicky grew into a project that took over the Byers' house every December as more and more people learned about the Carolers and wanted their own.
