This absolutely wonderful sterling silver soup tureen was made by Ball Black & Co. (1832-1846, NYC) circa 1873. As well as having Ball Black's stamp, it is also stamped English Sterling. Dimensions: 11-3/4 inches high at the finial x 16-1/2 inches handle to handle x 9 inches deep. It weighs a hefty 74.08 troy ounces. One side of the tureen is engraved "1873"; the other side "H.
