In the Year 2000 The theatre at home in 2000 Senez-Sturbelle Chocolate With colorful and futuristic images identical to the scarce and popular series issued in the U.S. titled "One Hundred Years Hence", cards in this series were given with chocolates by a firm based in Belgium. Text on front and back is in French. The series received a comprehensive write up by Richard Sheaff in the Winter 1999 issue of Advertising Trade Card Quarterly. The card measures 4-5/16" by 2-3/4" and is in fresh, excellent to near mint condition. The illustration supposes that sound and image from a theatre stage might be transmitted over telephone lines; note how each viewer needs his own telephone earpiece, though. Predictive accuracy on this one is pretty good, not too far from cable TV, and what a super image. Please see my other auctions for three more examples.
