C. 1920 Porcelain 6 ft. Mail Pouch Tobacco Thermometer

Up for auction is a circa 1920 porcelain Mail Pouch Chew Thermometer. It measures 6 ft. high, 18" wide, and is in its original wooden frame. The bottom board of the frame is the only piece missing. The first thing that I want you to know is that the yellow and white spots in the photos are not damage to the sign, but reflections of a light bulb and the camera flash. At the very top center t is one chip of enamel missing, it measures 1/2" wide by 1 1/2" long. T is one tiny dot of porcelain missing on the "T" in "Treat" as well. That's it. The rest of the thermometer is perfect, it has its original wood backing and is listed in Volume One of Raycroft's Americana Price Guide on page 114 at $800.
