Rarely does the average collector receive the opportunity to purchase a piece of history directly linked to one of the most storied clubs inexistence. Here is your opportunity! Offered is a c.1950âe(tm)s-60âe(tm)s Kansas City Athletics player valuables locker. Made of wood with riveted metal trim, the trunk measures 46x26x23 inches. This trunk has served its owners well, as it made the trip across country when the A's moved to Oakland and was put into good use for several more years before my consignor removed it directly from the clubhouse. I am told that there is another identical trunk still in use in the A's clubhouse today! In remarkable shape given its age and amount of use, the four cylindrical metal wheels still are functioning properly. Painted blue with red, white and blue trim, the paint is chipping and could benefit from a restoration. Also on a sad note, the original center lock has been removed and a more modern locking system has been put in its place. This is a bona fide piece of Athletics baseball history and a stunning piece worthy of any collection. Please note that similar items have sold recently in other auctions for $1000 dollars and up. More than likely this trunk will have to be sent via a freight service. Buyer to pay exact shipping and handling costs.
