DESCRIPTION: Estate find, excellent condition, authentic period ART DECO C.1920s-30s cast iron FIGURAL NUDE FLOOR-STANDING ASHTRAY with an elaborate transitional base. Features a superb 9 3/4" detailed figural Indian maiden or possibly an Egyptian maiden handle. The center of the stand exhibits a superb 15" tall figural silhouette nude of a woman with stunning sensuous form and lines holding the tray up with a torch and what looks like flames coming from the bottom. The base is 6 1/2" square with a raised form having a very transitional Art Nouveau - Art Deco motif, see photo. The tray area is 7 1/2" in diameter, takes a insert approx. 4 7/8" in diameter x approx. 1" deep, found with no insert. The total height of this Art Deco floor-standing ashtray is 25" tall and it weighs 5 lbs. unboxed. The base has the # E891D cast into the bottom, the top has # E891B. Retains all it's original screws, found in very nice, very clean condition. T are NO breaks or repairs in the iron. This is a true gem in the world of collecting Art Deco period pieces. A v ery stylish Art Deco find being offered with a very modest reserve which simply covers our investment and does not imply a value. Our reserve is far below what similar Art Deco floor-standing ashtrays have sold for. We have taken photos of every angle possible.
