Old H&C Disston Knife Saw Butcher? Surgeon? Tool 1800s Description: This is an old Disston double blade knife/saw dating, I would guess, to the 1800s. The name is stamped into the blade and reads H & C Disston, Phila, Cast Steel, Warranted, with the last part worn and faint. It is 18 inches long overall and the blade is 12 inches long with about a 3 1/2 inch tang. The blade is attached to the handle with iron or steel rivets with brass washers on either side. The blade is in good condition but has darkened with age and has scattered pitting. The wood handle has nice color and is in great condition. An early Disston tool for your collection.
