Up for auction is an extremely rare and very difficult to find art deco style , eames era hand crafted / assembled lamp by listed American Artist / manufacturer C. (Curtis) Jere (20th Century American Artist. This piece is a classic. It is a two socket fixed shade table or desk lamp. It measures 22 inches long by 13 inches deep by 23 inches high. The piece is signed by the artist "C. Jere" and dated 1977. The lamp can be turned on by a switch in the cord or it can be turned on with knobs on the socket. The piece is in overall good condition it has a few extremely tiny , and what look like small white paint spots on the tops of both shades but t again they are very difficult to see, you could probably be scraped off. T are also a few tiny and faint light scratches in a couple of spots on the shades. T are no dents , no bends no restorations. Curtis Jere is a very well collected contemporary mid century modern artist. He is best noted for his free floating and hanging chrome and brass circular sculptures that he produced from the early 1960s to late 1970s. This is the first lamp by this artist/ company that we have ever seen. Most of Jere's sculptures bring in the low hundreds each at popular modern auctions. Several of this artist's / company's more rare , free standing works have brought in the low thousands each at public auction. We have never seen an auction result for on of his lamps. This piece has great multiple market appeal as well this is collectible as a modern sculpture as well as a rare lighting collectible that is functional. Shipping is $39.95 in the lower 48 United States. Illinois residents please add 7.75% for state sales tax.
