This item for bids is a very nice item. Its a Vietnam Vintage C Ration Combat Meal. Its been completly gone through and referbished. This meal at one time had leaked because of its age and acids in the food. We removed the products in the leaking cans, steam cleaned them, filled them with 180 degree R-60 IGI wax to preserve them and add the weight back to the units, then oiled and buffed the cans . They are back in their normal condition and you can not tell they have been restored as they are filled from the bottom and you cant see that in the display position.

These are old vintage items and once they are gone t will be no more. Thats why we spend so much time restoring them. You also never have to worry about this meal leaking again and destroying your other items in the meal. We also cleaned and referbished the box so t are no stains. This is just a very impressive Combat Meal and only the Pears and Turkey are referbished. The rest of the meal is complete and full.

The Turkey was packaged by the " Blue Star Foods Co " which was out of "Council Bluffs Iowa "and a smaller packager for the US Military. This is a 6 3/4 oz can and has the US Inspectors P-45 Stamp on the top. This one cleaned up real nice and looks very impressive.

Also included is the " Quartered Pears " which was packaged by a company in Claifornia called the " California Canners and Growers " a small company which produced a lot of rations for the US Military up through Korea and Vietnam. This is a very nice 7oz can which also buffed up really nice.

Also included is a can of " Peanut Butter " which is full. Its a 1.5 oz can which was packaged by the " Stevens Industries Co. " which was a Div of Cinderella Foods Co in Dawson Ga. The Peanut Butter was fortified with extra vitimans to help the soldiers gain callories. Its a nice piece and a regular in Combat Ration Meals back to WW2.

Also included is an original B-3 unit which was produced by the " Dri Mix Products Co. " which was a very small company packaging some rations for the US Military. This was a very small company and only produced items for a short period according to their history. The can is the older version with the larger logo writting on the top. This can contains the crackers and Candy. Its a full and unopened can but it is clean and still nicely painted.

Just a very respectable and impressive meal We have gone through great work to ensure these are a very nice display meal and with the restoration they should last almost indeffinately. These are for DISPLAY ONLY , and not to be consumed . They are old collectables and only intended for show and collecting.

Also included in this meal is the Full Unopened Accessory Packet and a Packaged Spoon as well. The cardboard divided is also present and in good condition. The meal is as it left the packaging plant headed for the field. You will appreciate this item for your collection. Thanks and we appreciate your browsing our listings.
