LOT 108

EXQUISITE RARE L.C. SMITH AND BROS. TYPEWRITER FROM THE EARLY 20th CENTURY, OWNED BY THE DAUGHTER OF FAMOUS CIVIL WAR CAPTAIN LEO RASSIEUR.

The typewriter works excellent. Still has a working ribbon inserted. The number has been worn off as well as the serial number. It is very rare for the front lower right side of the machine to read "12 in" as that is usually found in another place on the machine.

PROVENANCE:
Estelle Rassieur Kelsey (Daughter of Famous Civil War Captain, 1878-1955). She traveled the world in 1930 on her famous "World Cruise" where she collected art from around the world. She was a lover of fine art from Europe and Asia, and was quite rebellious for a woman in those days, as she was known to ride horses like "a man", instead of "side-saddle" as was expected by ladies of that era.

SHIPPING:

Due to the delicate nature of the machine, it will need to be packed using special materials to endure the shipping process. For that reason we have offered a flat rate. We would be happy to use your shipper as well and in that case would charge zero for shipping.
