No collection of Tiffany Pineneedle pattern desk pieces is complete without the impressive, large 7 inch round inkwell. This is exactly what you want to find to add to your collection. All the metalwork is unmolested, with none of the dings or dents you often see on these. The patina is also all original, unmolested. The glass ink resevoir is original, intact with no chips no flakes no excuses. As you can see from the photo, even the bottom screw looks like it has never been turned.And as for the complex curved pieces of green glass that line the interior of this inkwell, t is not a crack break or repair in sight. All are original and intact. Just the way Louis Comfort Tiffany's workers made it.In other words, this is just about as perfect a large Pineneedles inkwell as you're going to find. T are a few typical scuffs to the bottom of the piece, but nothing that isn't to be expected, and certainly nothing that detracts from the beauty of the piece.It does show some normal signs of previous use, with hints of black india ink and t I suppose if you really wanted you could meticulously clean these, but it is hardly worth the effort and you'd probably do more harm than good. Ink traces on an inkwell? Perfectly normal.I have set my reserve below what this wonderful desk piece is worth. So you're sure to buy it right.Don't let this one get away. This is the correct LCT ink insert, with conforming steps and ridges. As you can see, t are no chips, flakes, or flaws. These are often damaged by people slamming the top of the inkwell down to close it, but that has never happened to this one.
