ABOUT OUR AUCTIONS: Hi everyone,thanks for taking a look at our items. Over the next week we will be listing some amazingly fine examples from our collection. You very rarely see private collections like this come up for auction on ebay these days, and all with No Reserve. If you haven't seen our auctions before it is nice to know we have Never Had a Reserve on one item ...Ever, no matter what it is! We also start everything off nice and low always under 15.00 to give everyone a great chance at a nice treasure. Also if you see more than one item you like, we give great combined shipping deals, always at least 50% lower for the second item and even lower for more items. ITEM: Up for auction is a Very Fine c1820 Georgian Silver Sheffield Plate Armorial Crown Top Meat Dome. The Dome is part of a Large Collection of Silver and other Fine Quality Estate items up for auction, as you can see in the last picture. The Dome is part of our collection of Georgian Silver Period Sheffield Plate we have collected over many years. You do see alot of pieces online calling themselves Georgian Sheffield Plate, but very few period examples like this come up for auction. The Dome is one of our most Favorite pieces from our collection, and we have never seen another one quite like it. The Dome is of Exceptional Quality and shows signs of beign completely Hand Made throughout. The Dome also has an Amazing Silver Crown Top Finial which we have never seen, giving the Dome a great quality unique Look. The Dome also has Matching Period Armorials on both sides, that appear to possibly be Royal, or of some importance. The Armorials also say in Latin"Retinens Vestiga Famae" or in English" Following in the Footsteps or our Fame". The Armorials are also both inlet with Solid Silver Plaques, on both sides, which is a good sign of the very fine quality of this Dome, and possibly indicating it was a commissioned piece. The Dome is not marked which is quite common at this period. The Dome is also in Exceptionally fine original condition showing very little to no wear throughout, no dints, cracks, or repairs. The Dome is also a nice size for use and display measuring 13 1/2 inches long, by 9 3/4 inches wide, and standing 8 inches tall. I have no idea what the Very Fine c1820 Georgian Silver Sheffield Plate Crown Top Armorial Meat Dome would be worth. I do know it may be some time before you see another example of this quality, and in this fine original condition. As usual we just start all our items off low, and will let you decide. Like a Real Auction should be!! The Very Fine c1820 Georgian Silver Sheffield Plate Crown Top Armorial Meat Dome would make a great addition to any collection, and is also an excellent investment piece.
