For sale is an antique American cut silhouette in what looks like it's original fancy gilded picture frame.The silhouette features a portrait of a husband and wife. There is a pencil inscription on the back identifying the sitters as:"Asa and Mary Clark. Married 1821. He died 1824."It is a cut silhouette laid or stitched down into a brown satin background.We do find an Asa Clark Sr. born in Massachusetts in the early 1700s who had children one of them most likely being Asa Jr featured in this silhouette. We can only assume that this is the same person.It measures:Frame - 6 1/4" x 5"Images - 2 1/4"
