This is a wonderful pair of antique c1830 American coin silver spectacles hallmarked with the maker name "S. White" on the inside of the right temple arm. The spectacles are in excellent untouched condition with the old original patina.. I did not attempt to clean these. They measure 4 1/2" across. The oval lenses are intact and do not have any chips or cracks. The temple arms hinge and extend out as they should. I do not see any problems. I found a few S. White silver makers in my books, but none that signed their name with lower case letters in "White"... so I have no idea if these are Southern or from the North... please let me know if you have any information. You will be pleased.
