Alcock "OLDWARES" ANTIQUES & COLLECTIBLES Old Staffordshire Romantic Blue Transferware Sugar Bowl & Lid "VINTAGE" Pattern by J& G Offered in this no reserve auction is this very nice antique blue transferware sugar bowl & lid in the Vintage pattern, made by John & George Alcock around 1840 to 1850. The condition is near mint. T is nothing wrong with it to mention. It is perfect, with no chips, flakes, cracks or agelines. The only thing is that the lid does have a vent hole. I am not sure if this is the right lid or if it is the teapot lid. I do believe that some sugars did have the vent hole, but not positive. The sugar with the lid on, measures approx. 7 1/2" high, and from handle to handle it is 6 1/2" wide. Marked on the bottom as shown. Let me know if the lid correct with the vent hole.
