ABOUT OUR AUCTIONS Hi...thanks for taking a look at our auctions. I have saved up some great items over the past few months that I will be listing soon. I also have a large Antique watch collection that I am presently selling, and all of them starting off low and with NO RESERVES . This is the best collection of watches I have sold to date! As usual we always give Great Worldwide Combined Shipping Deals if you are interested in more than one item, we do have more great treasures to come! Up for auction is a VERY RARE C1850 PARKINSON & FRODSHAM MARINE CHRONOMETER DECK CLOCK, WITH FUSEE MOVEMENT. I believe this Fusee Deck Clock is a Very Rare Find. I have not seen another example like it come up for auction on Ebay. I have heard at the higher end sales such examples have brought well into the thousands of dollars. The Case, Key, Dial, and Movement are also all numbered 197( all being original) which I believe may be the serial number? I was unable to find another model like this, or another example with a number so low, possible making the Deck Clock even that much more of a desirable find. I have wound up the Clock a few times and it winds and runs nicely. The Clock is an Untouched Fresh From Estate example, and I believe has not been run or serviced in Many Years. So I will assume it is in need of a good cleaning, and or adjustments to be in absolutley perfect working order, but as I said the important thing is it is presently running nicely. The shank insert for the numbered key is also worn, or missing. I have gotten a new one to wind the clock which needs to be installed in the key, which I am sure which could very easily be done. The Clock Case itself has a Fine Quality Three-Tiered Mahogany Box, with the front edges being inlaid with what I believe is Ebony or Rose Wood, and the top of the lid Finely Inlaid with Ox-Bone. There is as few small pieces of this inlay missing, but overall for its age the box is in very good untouched original condition with no cracks, or restorations. The Box also came with its original locking key, which is also in excellent working order. The top lid of the box opens with a brass 'button' closure to reveal a glass viewing port to the clock. The middle section of the box has a white ox-bone inlaid number #197, matching the dial, and mechanism, and key number. The box itself measures 6" square. The Gimble support for the clock as well as the outer casing, is made of a silver toned metal similar to nickel plating. The Gimble measures about 4 3/4" in diameter, with the actual clock case (for the movement) being about 3 3/8" in diameter and 2 7/8" deep. The Gimble locking mechanism is in perfect working order as well. The bottom of the Clock case has a circular plate that moves with a finger-tab to open the port for the key to wind the clock. The Dial Face and Fusee movement are housed within a brass toned inner case that measures about 3" in diameter, and slides into the silver case attached to the gimble. The brass movement is Fusee driven and is marked "Parkinson & Frodsham, 197, Change Alley, London". The silver toned dial face is in very nice condition and well marked with "Parkinson & Frodsham, Change Alley, London" No. 197". The large Roman Numeral numbers are topped with the minute numbers. The original large hour and minute hands are intact as well as the smaller second hand within the Seconds dial. The Original Thick Bevelled Crystal Dial Cover screws on the front of the case perfectly, and is also in fine original condition. The Bezel measures bout 4 1/8" in diameter. This is an Absoluetly Outstanding Chronometer Deck Clock in fabulous untouched condition, especially when considering its age, and seeing it has all its original pieces. I am sure it could be some time before you see another one like it up for auction, and with No Reserves! Parkinson & Frodsham, Change Alley, London. Of all the Frodsham firms of chronometer makers, the firm of Parkins...
