RARE Antique Minton "Crysanthemum" Chinoiserie Transferware Dated 1872 Beautiful Minton's English creamware IRONSTONE Antique Plates and Bowls in the RARE Chinoiserie pattern "Crysanthemum" (aka Chrysanthemum). While "Blue Willow" is the more common color, this set is in a rare green transfer glaze. If you are a serious collector of antique Mintons, this complete set is for you. This auction is for ONE (1) Soup Bowl and Underplate pair octagonal shape - I have 4 matching sets and if you win the auction you have first choice to buy as many as you would like. 4 Rimmed 10" Coupe Dinner Soup Bowls....sold only as a pair with the matching underplate 4 Rimmed 10" Plates Thomas Minton founded his factory in 1793/6 in Stoke-upon-Trent. Highly sought after, Oriental decoration like "Crysanthemum" and the famous "Blue Willow" was produced by Minton from the 1860s to the 1890s. The Minton factory was the most popular supply source in the 1800's of dinnerware for embassies and for heads of state. The factory is still producing to the present day as part of the Royal Doulton Group. From 1873 onwards, the maker's mark changed from "MINTON" to "MINTONS". This set is marked "MINTON" and bears a date mark confirming manufacture in 1872. Guaranteed Antique Mintons china. CONDITION : EXCELLENT. All have Crazing appropriate for age. One bowl has a discolored spot in the bottom (see photo, left front bowl). These are in overall amazing condition for being at least 134 years old - fantastic for collection and display! Good luck bidding! MARKINGS : See photos Impressed date mark for 1872 ("x" in circle) Basic impressed mark "MINTON" used 1862-1872 (from 1873 onwards it was "MINTONS").
