This is an uniquely styled and massive Victorian Era Parallel/ Self Pronouncing Edition of a Family Holy Bible from c1890! Beautifully designed Bible complete with fully adorned gilt and uniquely embossed covers, in somewhat worn external shape with some scuffing, rubbing and chipping of the gilt on the extremities, with both boards detached. Spine cover also detached on one side with nearly all leather lost, as shown. Bible with many sections and additions, a massive tome which is extensively illustrated. Many color illustrations, both in text and plates, some of them quite heavily adorned with gilt; also many black and white engravings by Gustave Dore. A few pages in front in rough shape and detached, also a few tears, chips and similar, but main block in great shape, as seen in the pics. Page edges gilt with two working Victorian swings clasps. The family pages remain unused, along with the presentation plate, but the photo pages have been excised. Please note conditional flaws before bidding. Dimensions 11" wide, 13" tall, 5" thick.
