Selling here is a five volume set of F. Edward Hulme's 'Familiar Wild Flowers' published in London by Cassell, Petter and Galpin, undated but circa 1890. A mixed issue set (three vols with gilt edges, one vol blocked in black to spine and not gilt). For sale therefore as a collection of plates. 8vo, bound in original publishers green cloth gilt, varying as above. The contents are complete, meeting collation: xvi, ii, 160; xv, [1], 160; xv, [1], 160; xvi, 160, [4]; xvi, 168pp. Each series containing the 40 colour plates as called for. This is one of a number of antiquarian books we have for auction without reserve, please View My Other Items For Sale . Condition: The books measure 14cm by 19.5c m. The bindings are holding firmly and in good condition, cloth bright, with some minor rubbing and marking, a few corners bumped or abraded, minor dustmarking to surfaces. Textblocks holding firmly, contents generally in good condition, a little toned and with some scattered foxing/brwoning, more notable to vols II and III, the former with a couple of leaves loose toward centre, some notable browning to tissue-guards but the plates largely clean.
