This c1890s Large French Gilt Mantel Clock has four free standing columns with decorative vines, large statues of a boy holding an arrow and a girl holding a bow playfully hiding from each other, three hand painted Sevres style panels plus a Sevres style convex dial and a Sevres style finial that is flanked by two cherubs. The case is signed Camus. Please use all of the photo enhancement features to help you evaluate this beautiful French Clock. I will describe this clock as I see it. The clock makes an excellent overall appearance and displays nicely. The case was reguilted many years ago and is showing some wear. The left side foot was repaired. The boy and girl statues are excellent and retain their original bow and arrow. These statues are approximately 5 1/2" high. All three Sevres style panels are excellent as is the finial. Both cherubs that flank the finial are excellent. The hand painted Sevres style convex dial has some minor wear but is still very good. The unsigned 8 day time and bell strike movement bears the serial number 2185. The movement is dirty and usually only runs for about one or two hours before stopping. The hour and half hour strike appear to be working properly but strike about four minutes past the hour and half hour. This is most likely due to the positioning of the replacement minute hand.
