This is a vintage original photograph of a baseball team, circa early 1900s. It is a silver bromide print measuring 5.5 x 7.5 inches and mounted on bristol board measuring 6.75 x 9.75 inches. T are no studio marks or other identifying marks front or back.
I wish I could identify the team. Obviously, it is the "Ridge" team as indicated on their jerseys, and the player in the lower right is wearing a Wesleyan jersey and slightly different uniform. I've been unable to find any convincing reference to a Ridge team from this period, especially one with a link to any of the major Wesleyan University teams. I'm curious to know of any college team that went by the name of Ridge in this period. See also my Ridge basketball team photograph, up for auction now. Condition of the photograph is Excellent; clean unblemished surface, sharp focus sepia image. The mat is generally clean with some age darkening and minor edge wear.
