SUPERB ART DECO C1915 CZECH CARVED & ACID ETCHED AMBER PERFUME BOTTLE. THIS BELONGED TO MY GRANMAMA WHO BOUGHT IT ORIGINALLY IN PRAGUE IN 1915. THIS IS JUST STUNNING.This is my favourite from my own personal collection, l inherited this from my granmama in 1964 and have absolutely loved it , it is quite a work of art.The perfume bottle stands 6âe inches tall with the stopper in place. The base measures; 2âe3/4 inches wide x 1âe1/4 inches deep. The stopper is 2âe1/4 inches wide x 3/8âe inch deep. The stopper is a masterpiece of the craftsmanâe(tm)s skills, t is a beautiful head and bust of an art deco lady above a garland of roses, she is looking at a butterfly alighting from a rose. This entire section is an Intaglio, or reverse cameo and is acid etched to give almost a 3D effect, just stunning. The profile edge has been wheel cut in a diamond pattern. I note that on the bottle at the neck interior a tiny, tiny nick that is very hard to see, l used a magnifier. On the stopper l note three tiny nicks to the points of the cross cuts that are not seen when the stopper is in the bottle or when viewed, again l used a magnifier. Also a chip to the base of the stopper, this cannot be seen when in the bottle.
