T are various types with geometric or highly stylized Herati orientation in dark but luminous vegetable dyes or a central medallion amongst the herati field. On a base fabric of wool they have a deep glowing pile made of good wool knotted in medium to coarse turkish knots. The structure may be thin and light or compact and medium heavy. The short to medium pile has from 80,000 to 240, 000 turkish knots per square meter.
