IF THIS ONE DOESN'T TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY.... you are NOT alive! - FINE ELEGEANTDEPRESSION ERA CRYSTAL by HEISEY - QUEEN ANN PATTERN (Empress) - ICE CUBE BUCKET - FABULOUSHEAVY STERLING OVERLAY as FRUIT - NO HANDLE - TOP CONDITION - HOW IN THE WORLD DID THEY GET SO MUCH BEAUTY ON ONE PIECE OF GLASS?! (They did Rae!)
I just purchased this in a Private Collection sold over the weekend in Central Ohio. I puchased over 100 Pieces and this one is/was one of my favorites. That Wonderful pattern by HEISEY called QUEEN ANN. So ELEGANT and FABULOUS HEAVY MARKED STERLING OVERLAY in all kinds of FRUIT PATTERNS. i.e. GOOSEBERRIES (Most people have never seen the old Gooseberry!) - CHERRIES - GRAPES - STRAWBERRIES and Leaves and Vines and Stems.... BE STILL MY POUNDING HEART! Introduced in about 1938 and to have GOOSEBERRIES just places this in the early period. FLAWLESS STERLING and looking from the INSIDE OUT .... it is even MORE POWERFUL !!! Right at 6 3/4" Top to Bottom. Top Diameter is 5 1/4" and note the great little DOLPHIN FEET and that super Beaded Pattern leading to EACH FOOT! ( I almost wept! ........ ) PERHAPS FORMAL .... yet.... with the fruit... relaxed and I can see Orange Juice with a Dipper at Breakfast!!! (Now... don't laugh... think about it....) NOTHING TO CALL with NO CHIPS or Cracks or Fleabites or Nicks or Repairs. I purchased this with NO HANDLE and I did not even hesitate. It just takes a standard Depression Era Handle that you can "steal" from any 5$ Flea Market Tub. 2 Glass Knobs to hold handle are MINT. The ORIGINAL CATALOG pictures a Silver plated one and reads Silver plated Handle..... HOWEVER, ELEGANT book by FLORENCE.... Gene shows a HAMMERED ALUMINUM....NOT !!!! LOL LOL Oh, that Gene! The handle just is NOT that important on these Ice Tubs! Mix and Match! lol lol..... GUARANTEED TO BE AS REPRESENTED - GOOD LUCK and Buyer to pay $7.50 Priority Shipping and Insurance will be extra IF wanted and suggested. ----- I LOVE MY JOB! ------
