Fantastic, original ca1959, Art Deco style, Advertising Sign / Poster for "Necchi Sewing Machine". This fantastic and stunningly beautiful, Color Lithograph Advertising Sign measures approx. 14” x 19” and features a stunning image of a Necchi "Supervova Ultra" Sewing machine with an image of a young Sophia Loren leaning seductively over the Machine. Text on the Sign reads "NECCHI" and "La mia machina per cucire è una Necchi!" (loose translation "My sewing machine is a Necchi!"). The Poster is signed by the artist - Guguani and the lithographer - "Istituto Italiano D'Arti Grafiche-Bergamo" (The Italian Institute of Graphic Arts in Bergamo, Italy). The Necchi supernova Ultra actually debuted in 1960 but the sale of this state of the art Sewing Machine was preceded by an extensive advertising campaign in 1959. The gold medal winning Necchi Supernova Ultra was so far ahead of its time that it took the sewing world by storm on its release. Necchi used the most beautiful women of the day to advertise their machines including a young Sophia Loren who appeared in numerous print advertisements for the Necchi Supernova.
