The illustration is believed to be the work of American Illustrator Jessie Willcox Smith.. This beautiful Invalid Food Advertising Sign measures approx. 10 3/4" at the base and 13 3/4" tall. The image depicts a beautiful, young Red Cross Nurse bringing a bowl of Armour's Soluble Beef (it looks like beef bullion) to an obviously very ill young woman seated in a high back, wicker lounge. The bottom section of the Sign features text that reads "Armour's Soluble Beef / For Invalids and Convalescents.".
