GEORG JENSEN CACTUS RARE BABY SET Circa 1930 $1 No Reserve! You are bidding on a wonderful rare baby set in the CACTUS pattern by Georg Jensen of Denmark. Baby Sets dating to the introduction of the pattern in 1930, are almost impossible to find. The set consists of a baby fork measuring 3 5/8" long and a baby spoon measuring 3 3/4" long. Both are solid sterling silver. The pieces come in the original Georg Jensen green felt pouch and 5th Ave New York box. Each have the 1930's era script hallmark (see pic). Pieces dating to the pattern introduction in 1930 are rare due to the fact that this era was the Great Depression. Can you imagine the luxury of giving a Georg Jensen sterling baby set as a gift at the height of the Great Depression! The pieces are in estate condition showing some normal wear. The green felt Jensen pouch shows some staining and the little cardboard 5th Ave. box is rather battered (see pics). On the backs of each piece is the wonderful name : Carolyn. If only these lovely rare examples of Jensen could talk. Carolyn must have been a very lucky girl indeed.
