Offering for sale and starting at 99 cents with no reserve, One Caddoan Jar that looks like it was used Prehistorically with the lip missing...The existing lip shows wear and use and bears patina to show that it was not recently broken..This was one piece in a large collection that was collected in the 60's and 70's and sold by the heirs of the collection to me..I wish I could have had some more information other than the box saying Clark Co. Ar. but I do not..It looks like it might have had a couple of suspension holes drilled on both sides that broke out with use..This type vessel is used in everyday life and probably would still be good enough to cook in or store items in after the lip was broken..I glued back in two little rim pieces less than an inch total that I bumped and broke and t is a small hole repaired it the bottom..about 3/8 inside and 1inch or so on the outside..IT is solid and has no other repair that I see..I think this may be a Cass Applique from about 1000 years ago but I am not sure.T are four appliqued decorative lines quadrasecting the jar..They extend several inches in the four places and give it a nice look..It has a flat bottom and sits well..If you want to show it as is, that would be fine but it would repair well because t is no other damage to speak of other than the lip..It has a nice finish and has
