This NKJV (New King James Version) Bible is one of the American printed copies of the NKJV "New Open Bible Study Edition" Bibles. It is chock full of features which help one to delver deeper into their study of God's Word.The text block is smyth-sewn, with overcast stitching in the front and back of the Bible for extra durability. It has been expertly re-bound in a soft, flexible, two-tone Calfskin leather binding by Abba. The black calfskin is very smooth to the touch, while the red calfskin leather has some very deep veins in its grain and can be seen in the pictures. They are even more vivid in person! Along the spine you will feel 5 raised hubs, which I really like. There is tan stitching around the perimeter of the binding, too. There are 3 ribbons; one black, one tan, and one red. This text block does not have gilded pages edges; they were stained gold instead of gilded. I think that not having the shiny page edges actually goes well with the tan perimeter stitching, but maybe that's just me. Only the words 'Holy Bible' are shown on the spine. The gold gilding that Abba used to emboss it on the spine were beginning to rub away, so I very gently removed what remained so that it now appears to be 'blind stamped' into the leather.This Bible uses red lettering for the words of Christ and if I had to guess, I would say that the font size is somewhere around a 9pt. size? The layout of the text makes reading from this Bible a true pleasure.The measurements of this Bible are: 9-5/8" tall, 6-5/8" wide, and 1-3/4" thick.I am the second owner of this Bible. I purchased it from its original owner a while back on eBay, but haven't really used it, so it's time to let it go to someone else who will put it to good use. The only condition issue that I could find is that there are some light scratches on the gold stained (again, NOT gilded) page edges. These were likely incurred during the re-binding process, and are shown in one of the photos. There is NO handwriting, underlining, or highlighting anywhere in this Bible; it's truly in great shape.Please browse through the pictures to see how nice this Bible really is.
