California fauvist landscape, contemporary oil, listed Beautiful fauvist rendering of a California landscape by listed American artist Ken Christensen. Painting is an oil on stretched linen. Measures 22" H x 28" W; with custom-made frame, 21 x 27" . Both painting and frame are in pristine condition. Signed LR "Ken Christensen"; verso, titled Foothills , signed and dated 2005 . He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1951 and raised in Michigan w he attended Michigan State University with a B.A. in History. He was also part of a study program at Bedford College, London and attended the University of Manchester in England. He began painting watercolors in Jamaica in 1973 and has pursued a career as a freelance artist every since. He took some art courses at Northern Michigan and then moved to London in 1980. He studied in Europe for nine years supporting himself with sketches of shops and restaurants.
