RARE OLD CALIFORNIA GOLD SILVER QUARTZ PICTURE FOB

Victorian Era picture fob/locket. Fabulous and extremely rare gold in quartz with silver and gold on one side of the fob. Solid gold quartz w/silver and heavy at 9.9 grams. My understanding from the California Estate that this came from was that it was made in San Francisco sometime shortly after 1850. This is a masterpiece and of museum quality. Any collectors of this type of material know how rare it is to find such a nice early piece of this quality. A much cheaper type was seen to go at auction several months ago for in excess of $1,400. This one most likely SHOULD be in a museum that collects and displays such high quality Gold Rush items.
