Ahhh, California! Take a trip back in time to 1950s and early '60s California in sunny 3D with these Sawyers View Masters. In the first pack, California (pink cover), check out what the included booklet says is America's "2nd most populous state" (after New York), with less than 2 million people in LA, and 250,000 acres of the state planted with 20 million orange trees. How times change. Check out in stereo photos the blessing of the grapes in Lodi, oil derricks pumping at Signal Hill near Long Beach, filming a Western in Hollywood, pleasure boats at Newport, and more. Then it's time to take a photo tour of California's Spanish Missions, all 21 of them, that follow the Southern California coast from San Diego to Carmel. San Luis Rey de Francia, San Juan Capistrano, San Gabriel Arcangel, Santa Barbara and the rest--they're all All of the existing missions are pictured in excellent 3D photos; of the few that no longer exist, the church or replica that replaced it is pictured. Speaking of Southern California, take a tour of the amazingly diverse lower half of the Goldne State with pack 3, from Bovard Hall at USC to the Rose Bowl to an Atlas Missile factory in San Diego, to harvesting lettuce in the Imperial Valley to the Palm Springs tramway to Hearst Castle and more. And finally, the Los Angeles pack, showing LA in the days of Eisenhower and JFK.
