You are bidding on a wonderful, wonderful porcelain piece from Howard Pierce. I just did a google search on him to see what I could learn about this piece and man-oh-man, was this guy ever talented! He was able to capture all manner of creatures in unique and charming ways!! Do a search…this guy was great! As is this piece!!!!!! Up for auction is one of his more rare goose figures. I went through dozens of other listing trying to come up with a starting bid for this one, but only found one. Most of the other goose figures are standing – this one is in flight and its gorgeous. It was probably made in the late 1950’s or early 1960’s and is in incredible condition. There is one tiny mark on the very, very tip of the tail. It is a small round mark measuring about 1/8 of an inch in diameter. I can’t tell if it’s a chip or not. It feels smooth to the touch and it looks like it’s glazed over. Please see the picture. There are no other cracks, splits, chips or knicks anywhere else on this gorgeous piece!! It is clearly marked on the bottom, ‘Howard Pierce Porcelain.’ Goose is about 11 inches long, 4 inches at its widest and about 4 ¼ inches tall.
