For auction is a real piece of Americana for the tool collector . This is a Darling, Brown & Sharpe micrometer-caliper from about 1880 . Samuel Darling was an original partner with Brown & Sharpe but operated separately until about 1868 when he moved from Maine to Providence, RI. This 6” caliper has an additional micrometer head that reads to thousandths. Everything works, no missing parts. T is a fair amount of discoloration associated with tool steel; also, some pitting on the outboard end of the scale. Otherwise, this is a functional measuring tool , and a unique and rare piece of Americana, indeed , a museum piece … you may never see another one! Will weigh over 1 pound when packed for shipping. TERMS : US funds in check, cash, or credit card. Checks must clear before I ship. I will accept credit or debit cards through PayPal . Please: No eChecks! Echecks, due to their long processing time, throw off my shipping schedule and create a problem with shipping to you on time. Please use the calculator for shipping, handling, and packing for the United States. If sold out of the US, please contact me for shipping and handling costs.
