You are Bidding on a FANTASTIC CAMBRIDGE GLASS NUDE (STATUESQUE) AMBER IVY BALL VASE. It was introduced in1931. These Ivy Bowls became one of CAMBRIDGES best sellers. Cambridge Glass Co. was founded in 1901. It closed in 1954 and briefly opened again in 1958.
My IVY BOWL has no marks. None of CAMBRIDGES STEMWARE was ever marked. Only their pressed pieces received the triangle-c- mark and then only for a short time in the mid to late 20s through 1937. Production from1901 through the early 20s often had NEARCUT as the Trademark but again only on pressed items never on STEMWARE.
In 2005 the KOVELS priced these at 395.00 in MINT condition. The Replacements LTD, the worlds largest China and Crystal replacement SELLS SIMIALAR PIECES for $449.99.
The 1920's were the Cambridge Glass Companies most prolific years. Cambridge came out with their new line called their Nude Ivy Bowl, STATUESQUE, introduced in 1931. Also referred to as # 3011.
These pieces are STRIKING and widely sought after. The Cambridge "Nude" is characterized by a Nude Lady with her hands over her head. Her head is slightly tilted to the right with her hair falling over her right arm and her right knee is slightly bent.
My Nude, AMBER Ivy Bowl stands about 9 3/4" tall, diameter of the bowl is about 4", and the base is about a 4" diameter.
This piece is in very good condition, figuring its over 98 years old.
The top of the bowl shows no wear and t are no cracks or fleabites anyw The bowl is a little cloudy towards the top and t is a small chip on the back left side of the base which is exactly 3/8" wide, shown in my PICTURES. The price will reflect these flaws.
It is a WONDERFUL PIECE of ART DECO HISTORY and a GREAT COLLECTORS PIECE.
