This is the knife in the top picture without the piece of rawhide on top of the sheath. Up for your bidding pleasure is a Pre 1962 Camillus Pilot Survival Knife with the pre 1962 leather sheath and pre 1962 6 " inch blade. I mention this first because I don't want any confusion with the Pilot Survival knives that were made after 1962 which include Milpar, Utica, Ontario, and Camillus which all had 5 " inch blades and a different leather sheath. The only blue blade produced on this Pilots knife was a Marbles 6" knife, and this Camillus knife, all the others are parkerized blades. High carbon manganese cutlery steel, ferro-blued forged carbon steel blade, not stamped. Saw-toothed sharp back edge for cutting all-most thru anything oncluding light metal. Heavy steel butt plate used for pounding. Some history on this particular knife in the picture: Made by Camillus. It has 99.5% of the Black/grey bluing finish on the knife, and replaced with a nice patina on the blade. Nothing is loose on the knife. It has been sharpened properly and is razor sharp. The handles on the knife are made of oven-dried leather washers with sweat and dirt grooves, and other uses (such as lashing to pole for fishing or spear). Excellent condition on leather handles and longer & thicker for better grip. Knife is 10 1/2" inches overall in length and has 6" inch read more
