A scarcer small ‘C’ over ‘22’ collar badge to the 22nd Battalion CEF (Babin E.22, Charlton 22A-83) Maker marked Tiptaft B’ham on the reverse. The 22nd battalion was a French speaking battalion raised in Quebec with mobilization headquarters at St.Jean effective 15th March 1915. The battalion sailed for England May 20th 1915 where it was assigned to the 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division serving in this capacity for the duration of WWI.
