Lot 7 of a specialized collection of badges to the 30th British Columbia Horse. PLEASE NOTE! In this lot you are bidding on the item in the first scan only! Any other scans are included to show the difference in the varieties I am currently offering for sale on eBay. The early history of the 30th and 31st British Columbia Horse is complicated both regiments being formed from the British Columbia Horse eventually forming the British Columbia Dragoons and the British Columbia Hussars. Both regiments trace their origins to a number of independent squadrons of Mounted Rifles raised in the Southern interior of British Columbia early in the 20th Century. In 1908 these were designated as the Canadian Mounted Rifles (Independent Squadrons). In April 1910 the Canadian Mounted Rifles (Independent Squadrons) were designated as the British Columbia Horse (Independent Squadrons). As the population of the area grew the number of squadronâe(tm)s increased by 1911 were formed into two Regiments the 1st and 2nd Regiments, British Columbia Horse. These designations becoming the 30th and 31st Regiment British Columbia Horse in 1912. Lot 7 is a matched facing pair of other ranks gilding metal collar badges.
