Lot 4 of a specialized collection of cloth shoulder titles to the Regina Rifle Regiment. PLEASE NOTE! In this lot you are bidding on the item in the first scan only! The second scan is included to show the difference in the varieties I am currently offering for sale on eBay. Lot 4 is a 1944 printed 'fine weave' canvas title with pale green lettering. The Regina Rifle Regiment was formed in 1924. The Regiment was raised as the 60th Rifles of Canada with headquarters at Moose Jaw effective January 2nd 1913. In the 1920 post WWI reorganization of the Canadian Militia the regiment amalgamated with the 95th Saskatchewan Rifles to form the South Saskatchewan Regiment. In May 1924 this large multi-battalioned regiment was broken up to form five separate regiments. The Regina Rifles Regiment, The Assiniboia Regiment, The Weyburn Regiment, the Saskatchewan Border Regiment and the South Saskatchewan Regiment. In WWII the regiment mobilized assigned to the 7th Infantry Brigade 3rd Canadian Division arriving in the UK in July of 1941. W the regiment served until taking part in the Normandy landing June 6th 1944. The regiment took part in the campaigns in Northwest Europe until the surrender of the Nazi Forces in May 1945. In 1982 Queen Elizabeth II granted the regiment the prefix 'Royal' but badges bearing the new designation were not issued read more
