I believe this to be a 1st Generaton Canadain Airborne Regiment Camoflauged smock manufactured by the Peerless Garment company in 1975.The Canadian Airborne Regiment ordered these at personal expense to Regt in 1975 and later these were made by various makers at Govt Expense and issued to units of the Special Service Force as well. This appears to be one of the first and is a scarce smock in itself.Colour is still quite good for this jacket with onlyminimal fading and a few repairs are noted.Hood and beaver tail are intact although the inside of the snap fastener is missing.(could be replaced.)A decent size as well as this jacket should fit a 5' 10" 200Lb man just about perfectly.All zippers and snaps are intact and work.Also included are mint brand new SSF Insignia and a parachute harness as used by Canadian parachutists in the Special Service Force and Airborne Regiment.This is now a collectbale and historic ensembe now the both the force and the Airborne Regiment are long gone although t are now some rummblings of a new Airborne compnent perhaps being formed at Trenton Ontario. We shall see. Great lot of early gear and getting very tough to find these days especially in this size.
