This auction is for one (1) hard-to-come-by fantastic EMBOSSED 22 OZ BALL BLUE SURE SEAL FRUIT JAR! Fantastic example of a early bottling/canning! Wonderful treasure, piece is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, dings, scratches, just a couple of flea bites/roughness around lip edge (only noticeable when running finger around lip) -- a terrific acquisition for the canning/fruit jar collector! Coloring is gorgeous (did not come out in pictures, must be in-hand to be fully appreciated!) Jar is beautiful and clear, with a few bubbles and striations in glass that collectors have come to appreciate and desire! On front: BALL/ SURE SEAL Around shoulder: PACKED IN/ ST. JOHNSBURY VT -- BY THE TOWLE/ MAPLE PRODUCTS CO Embossed on base: PAT'D JULY, 14, 08/ 4 Smooth lip, with Lightning beaded neck seal. Wonderful early jar/advertising, this is a terrific find, in size, coloring, and condition -- great piece of tangible history! Wonderful collectible for anyone interested in Ball/Sure Seal items, Vermont memorabilia, canning/fruit jars, or antique bottles/glass in general! Low starting price and no reserve make this one of those "gotta have" acquisitions -- great for either the beginning or invested collector! Great for the expanding/beginning collection! Y ou are definitely going to want to add this to the display or collection! [Note: collector's will know that this is a steal-of-a-deal -- I'm cleaning out old stock to make room for new.] Please see pictures for details.
