These binoculars are offered 'for spares only' although I believe someone with the necessary skill with optics should be able to restore them to their original stunning performance. There are some surface blemishes on the casing conducive with 10 years of use.Sadly they were placed on top of my car in their soft case and slid off onto a car park surface. The situation is that whilst the image stabilisation system is working, and the lenses all appear to be unharmed, when looked through with both eyes, it seems that one element is looking in slightly the wrong direction. Close one eye and the image through the other is perfect, focus-able and stabilised. Swap eyes and again perfect vision.I believe there is a simple alignment issue inside the binoculars. To be fair to any would-be purchaser, I have contacted Canon who will not offer to repair because they are just over their 10 years age limit guarantee on spare parts (purchased June 2004), despite the fact that they are still manufacturing the same model which you can see at http://www./For_Home/Product_Finder/Binoculars/Optical_Image_Stabilisation/12x36_IS_II/The binoculars come with the original Canon neck strap and soft case, both in fair and perfectly usable condition.Thank you for looking.
