Item Description:

This is a wonderful and very old Mid 19th Century hand-painted CANTON ROSE MEDALLION CHINA - 29 PIECE SET! Dating to the mid 1800's. I'll be honest with you right up front...the business side of me says to piece this set off...I'll make better profits. But I bought it together and I've decided to keep it together. This was passed down through several generations of a family. I thought about it and I think I'd like to sell it that way. THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY A WHOLE SET FOR FOUR PEOPLE! I don't think I've ever seen a set sell on Ebay. Most sellers piece them out. They just don't come better than this. I guarantee this is authentic, Asian, mid 1800's vintage hand-painted Rose Medallion China. Each piece is individual, delicate and gorgeous. The photos were taken outside in natural light...no flash. The colors are better in person than the pictures show. Very rich! I do not use reserves, never have, I believe the buyers should set the value, so bid with confindence and have fun...it will sell to the high bidder. Below is what the set consists of and overall condition:

4 - Soup Bowls painted inside and outside. These are my personal favorites. One has just a little roughness around one section of the rim. Very tiny fleabites or flakes at best. One has a 1/8 inch chip on the inside just below the rim. They measure approximately 4 3/4 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches tall. Beautiful pieces!

4- Soup Bowl Saucers. Painted on the face. I find no issues with these. They are superb! Approximately 6 1/8 inches wide and 1/2 inch tall. Gorgeous!

4- Square rice or bread plates. Painted on the face. One of these has a tiny, shallow fleabite on one corner. One has a few natural crazing lines on the back side of the plate. That is it. Approximately 6 1/4 inches wide and 5/8 inches tall. They are excellent!

4 - Dinner plates. Painted on the face. 9 inches wide and 5/8 inches tall. Large beautiful pieces. All of these have a few shallow flakes or fleabites right on the outside edge. I pictured a couple of them so you can see what I'm describing. They are the last two pictures. Simply wonderful examples.

4 - Handled cups. All painted on the Outside and on the inside rim. They are superb. Each shows slight wear around the rim. Very minor...just paint wear. All are beautiful!

4 - 12 sided saucers for the cups. All are painted on the face. Gorgeous pieces. Flat bottoms. A few of these have extremely shallow and minor flakes on the very outside edge. Mostly just paint wear. Very small...you must inspect very closely to see them. Approximately 5 1/2 inches wide and 7/8 inches tall.

4 - Shallow Soup or Rice bowls. Approximately 6 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches tall. Fantastic pieces. One has a tiny fleabite or flake on the outside rim, one has a tiny fleabite on the outside rim and on the underneath bottom.

1 - Soup or Rice Laddle. Has just a coupe of tiny flakes or paint loss on the handle. Wonderful piece.

Item Condition:

For a 160 year old set of hand painted China...it is in fantastic condition. My descriptions above are accruate. The slight damage described is just that...SLIGHT. T are no cracks, breaks, chips or fleabites not mentioned. The large dinner plates show the most "damage" if you want to call it that. It is all on the very outside rim as you would expect from large 160 year old pieces. Doesn't detract from their beauty or significance at all. The flakes are lost in the overall pattern and not readily visible except up close. T may be some slight wear spots that were not mentioned on some pieces...but they would be so, so slight such as a minor paint loss or wear. I included as many pictures as Ebay would let me. It is a richly colored, historic old set of China. Its fun to just look at each piece and compare differences as not two pieces are exactly the same.
