This is a really nice group of select Canyon Diablo meteorites that altogether weigh a total of 500 grams and average a little over 60 grams each. They were hand picked by me from the very best of my inventory and as you can see they are all really good looking specimens with very nice shapes. They are all perfect smooth little pieces and look absolutely awesome. These little pieces of the stars would make absolutely awesome centerpieces to anyones collection. These specimens are 100% guaranteed iron meteorites from the Barringer Meteor Crater near Winslow, Arizona, United States. The specific composition of the Canyon Diablo Meteorite, is as follows: .92% iron, .07% nickel and .005% cobalt with trace amounts of Gallium, Germanium, Iridium and Platinum. All of my Canyon Diablo Meteorite auctions are guaranteed to be the same compostion as described above. The world famous Barringer Meteor Crater was so named for Daniel Moreau Barringer who first proved the theory that the crater was indeed caused by a meteor impact. Falling sometime between 40 and 50 thousand years ago, the meteorite is thought to have been approximately 150 feet wide and around 300,000 pounds in weight. Believed to have been traveling at somew around 28,000 miles per hour upon impact, the resulting explosion created a crater 4,100 feet wide and 590 feet deep, scattering small pieces of the meteorite for miles in each direction. This would be an excellent oppurtunity for anyone to own a piece of this historic meteorite before this non-renewable and limited source runs out. The Canyon Diablo meteorites are indeed becoming sparse and would make an excellent monetary investment due to the fact that within a very few years, all remnants of the great explosion will have been excavated and prices will skyrocket as inventories run out. Shipping details for all of my auctions are as follows. All winning auctions will be mailed via USPS priority within two days of final payment. All auctions will be packed in bubble wrap and or envelopes and if size requires also packed in appropriately sized USPS priority box. Delivery confirmation will be used on all purchases and insurance can be added at the purchasers request. Return Policy is full money back minus shipping within 7 days of arrival of package.
