Capodimonte Antique Neoclassical Risque Biscuit Bust of Madame Pompadour Marked A well detailed and realistically modeled biscuit porcelain fabulous antique bust of the infamous Madame Pompadour mistress and adviser to French King Louis the 15th.This Capodimonte Naples porcelain bust is from a recent Boca Raton estate sale . Modeled partly as Diana the Huntress this 14"T x 8"W" bust was made as it is titled after the artist Boucher who painted her around the mid 18 th century. As shown the low neckline of her gown has partly slipped from her right shoulder partly exposing her right breast She is further shown with her right hand crossed over her chest and neoclassic decoration of floral is her extended right hand. There is also floral on her base.The front is incised with the inscription after Boucher in French. The Capodimonte hand marked N crown backstamp dates her to between 1850 and early 1900. She also has a number 5 incised which I believe means the 5 th of this piece made and a very faded model number on the front reading 0779 . In near excellent condition for her age she does have a mold flaw a small back surface crack which is most likely a firing crack under the base as shown in picture #8. There is also there are in places some yellowing from age which I believe can be removed with a good cleaning. I do not see any man
