Up for auction is a 1941 "Captain Midnight Detect-O-Scope" Ovaltine premium in the original mailing box which also contains a flyer that reads "Please Give This to your Mother". I did not open this flyer because it has never been opened before but I presume it is the instructions on how to use the viewer. The red viewing cylinder is printed with "Captain Midnight Detect-O-Scope" and has a small issue in the area near the "A" in Captain. The shinny reflective portion of this scope rotates with ease. Contained within the end of the viewing cylinder is a metal piece that slides out to reveal 4 different sized holes with distances in feet stamped by each hole from largest to smallest = 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000 used to determine the altitude of objects in the sky. The metal insert measures approx. 3" long and the overall viewer measures approx. 5" x 13/16" in diameter and is in generally excellent condition as shown. The original mailing box is also in generally excellent condition with only the closing flap on one end missing. Please view the pictures carefully as they are part of the description.
