XXL, A+ CARCHARODONTOSAURUS TOE CLAW + DINOSAUR FOSSIL ...F #860 – Morocco... This auction is for a Collector Grade toe claw and associated digit from the foot of Carcharodontosaurus saharicus , which was a gigantic, T rex sized, bipedal, carnivorous dinosaur that lived along a coastal plain of North Africa. This Grade A+ claw is 3.6” long . The photos clearly show the morphology of this interesting fossil. It has great color and patina; with sub-surface bone marrow exposed in places. The proximal end (where it meets a toe bone) is superb and the distal end has a perfect tip! I think that this fossil pair is truly spectacular. Both have minimal R & R! THAT IS SO RARE! The toe has two repairs near the tip and some hairline cracks near the proximal end. The un-prepped digit has a few repairs and is in field condition. They are from the fossiliferous Cretaceous Period Tegana Formation of the Kem Kem Region of Southern Morocco. *** NOTE*** I think the difference in Carch and Spino toe claws is that the Carch claws have a higher profile (taller at the proximal end) than the flatter profile of the Spino toe claws. I can not determine it from the shape of the interface of the claw and the digit,,, maybe some day!?!? *** Note*** The Carchs were gigantic, T rex-sized, bi-pedal, carnivorous dinosaurs that were in structure quite similar to North American Allosaurus fragilis and not really so much like T rex,,,, except in the serrated teeth! I think that these fossils are truly spectacular for the price. I can’t wait to hear from you after you actually hold them! Again,,,,, these have not been polished or colored to be "pretty"!! (Although they look fabulous.... :-) Get these now because truly, quality North African fossils are getting rarer and more expensive every year! Honestly, Carch teeth of this size are exceedinly rare! I will pack them well, send the package promptly and include a bonus fossil from Kem Kem. Featuring an extremely LOW, Wholesale Buy-It-Now price! Please check the web and other auctions, then come back for these! Thanks for looking!!! Thanks to my son Brett P. Miller of Longmont, CO for the striking artwork!
