This is an original pressing of the 1969 release "Musical Scorcher" by Carey Johnson & Sound Dimension, cut to the riddim of "Nanny Goat" by Larry Marshall & Alvin Leslie (a record often regarded as one of the earliest examples of the reggae style). The double rhythm guitar strokes were achieved using an echo machine Coxsone had just brought back from England. Karl "King Cannonball" Bryan features on alto sax and Jackie Mittoo on organ. It was produced & recorded at Studio One by Clement Coxone Dodd on his Studio One label. The B-side is "Hold Me" by Basil Daley with sweet harmonies from Heptones & friends, Vin Gordon on trombone & Felix "Deadly Headly" Bennett on alto sax, and Bunny Williams on drums. This record is from my personal collection; I'm not really a buy-and-sell-or-trade type of seller. I bought this record used in Jamaica. This records plays really well for its age, yet another example of Jamaican 60's pressings playing and wearing better than those that followed after 1971. It's been wet cleaned, then both sides archived to CD by me as part of the grading process. Guaranteed free of skips and loud scratches when I used a tonearm weighted at 1.5 grams. About my pricing: I'm offering this at a Buy It Now price of $18.00.
